According to the February 2010 issue of National Geographic – dragon flies has one of the longest migration habit of any insect.

They journey some 17,700 kilometres, in the company of the great travelers of the animal world.

The insect, which breeds in pools of fresh water, appear to follow seasonal rains and is the No. 1  predator of killer mosquitoes.
