Apples in Kyrgyzstan
shot at a market in Bishkek is this car boot of Apples for sale. Although its a fall fruit, Kyrgyzstan farmers think of them as a winter moneymaker and store them for sale. During winter, an apple can fetch as much as three times higher price.
Begining in 2006, Kyrgyzstan also holds
the Annual APPLE FESTIVAL (only one in Central Asia?)
in October in the village of Kyzyl-Tuu on the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul.
